TOP 10 ESSENTIALS

1. Travel Documents

The minimum travel document requirement for U.S. Citizens are (1) an original United States Birth Certificate and (2) a government-issued ID (i.e. Driver's License or State ID). U.S. Citizens born outside the U.S. can use their certificate of naturalization with ID, or a passport. All U.S. citizens must have a valid proof of citizenship.

A passport is not required but it is recommended to board our ship. For additional requirements for non-US travelers, please see our complete list of required documentation for travel here.

2. Luggage
Each guest is permitted to bring two (2) pieces of complimentary luggage, not to exceed 50 pounds per piece. We recommend utilizing a portable luggage scale to determine if you have overpacked your luggage.

Keep in mind, for excess and overweight luggage, a $25 fee per bag will be automatically charged to your onboard account. When in doubt, pack less to avoid going over the allowed luggage limit.

3. Credit Cards and Cash
Be sure to bring credit cards and cash onboard the ship. During check-in, you'll need to present your credit card to set up an onboard spending account. Also, bring a few small bills if you plan to tip crew members personally for exceptional service.

4. Electronics- Camera, cell phone, laptops, chargers, etc.
Don't leave home without your electronics! Be sure to bring your camera along with extra batteries, memory cards, and chargers to capture the moments.

5. Comfy Shoes
You will be walking for a considerable amount of time, so comfortable shoes, such as sneakers, sandals, and flip-flops are an absolute must-have for cruising. We suggest low heeled, rubber-soled, or flat shoes for extra traction.

6. Swim Wear
You'll find multiple Jacuzzi's and swimming pools onboard the ship, as well as beach-bound excursions when you arrive at Grand Bahama Island. If you're planning to take a dip, bring swimwear and water essentials. Be sure to pack extra swimsuits, flip-flops, and sneakers in your luggage.

7. Beach Bag (filled with goodies)
Stock your beach bag or tote with necessities for your vacation. Here are some goodies to consider packing in your beach bag…

We recommend bringing designated bags for toiletries and medication. You can purchase many basic toiletries at low prices at most drug stores. If you have prescriptions that must be taken daily, make sure to keep them in your possession at all times. Don't risk a medical emergency!

9. Ziploc Bags
Ziploc bags are a complete lifesaver when you're traveling on a cruise. They're easy, affordable, and quick to use. Various size bags that can be used for different purposes. Small Ziploc bags are great for storing petite items like pills, jewelry, hair accessories, and similar items. Medium-sized Ziploc bags can be utilized to protect electronic products from water elements. The fear of getting your gadgets wet is a constant worry when going to the seaside. Cameras, phones, iPods, and other electronic items are great items to store in medium-sized bags. Lastly, larger size bags can come in handy to store and separate wet and dirty garments.

10. Sea-Bands or Dramamine
Be proactive and combat motion sickness with Sea Bands and Dramamine. Say goodbye to nausea and morning sickness with these beneficial products. These products can be found in major drug chains and pharmacies nationwide. Ginger pills are also helpful to minimize the effects of motion sickness. In case you forget to bring something on the cruise, keep in mind that you will most likely be able to find it at one of your onboard shops.

WHAT TO WEAR

While traveling aboard our ships, you'll be able to take part in many activities; such as poolside parties, live performances at our Legends Grand Theater, fine dining experiences, and much more. Make sure to pack multiple clothing options for daytime and nighttime activities.

Here are a few tips to look the part for every occasion…

1. Daytime Attire

Casual is key for daytime attire. Shorts, tank tops, sandals, and sneakers are highly recommended for optimum comfort.

2. Evening Attire
Although our dress code is casual, some of our selected restaurants include formal attire which includes formal shirts, fancy pants, collar shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts, etc. Jackets and ties are optional. If you're planning to dine at our fine dining restaurants, Admiralty Club or Stellar Prime, please keep in mind that a dress code is enforced.

3. Swim & Beach Wear
You'll probably be spending around 80 percent of your time in swimwear on the ship or exploring the sandy beaches of the Grand Bahama Island, so remember to pack an extra bathing suit, a pair of flip-flops, a beach bag, a hat, and sunglasses.

TRAVELLING WITH KID CRUISERS

Pack items that your kids can't live without. A favorite teddy bear, iPad, or portable video game are a few that come to mind. For infants, bring along baby bottles, extra diapers or pull-ups, wipes, and other required baby products.

To ensure the safety of our passengers, please take a moment to review the list of Prohibited Items. All luggage that is checked in or carried on is subject to be searched.

The following items are prohibited and shall be surrendered to security at embarkation and may be disposed of at the sole discretion of the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.
